Nine Iowa businesses will receive the Iowa Venture Award on Thursday during the 26th annual awards presentation luncheon hosted by the Iowa Area Development Group. CPI - Prairie Gold Hatchery, a poultry hatching operation of Centurion Poultry Inc. that opened in Goldfield in February will be recognized as outstanding business.The Distinguished Leadership award will be presented to Wildwood Hills Ranch of Iowa in St. Charles. The Iowa Venture awards recognize Iowa companies that have made significant contributions to the state's economy through investment, expansion and the creation of job opportunities. Other award recipients include: Airport Road Vineyard & Winery, Mount Pleasant; Brownmed, Inc., Spirit Lake; ECHCO Concrete LLC, Corning; Kloubec Koi Farm, Amana; LaBudde Group Inc., Manchester; United Farmers Mercantile Cooperative, Villisca; and Valley Plating Inc., Rock Valley. The awards luncheon will be held at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel in conjunction with the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives annual meeting.
