Revolution and romance. Good and evil. Les Misérables is an epic struggle between two idealistic men, set against a backdrop of political unrest.
Jean Valjean has been unjustly imprisoned for 19 years. Now free, his only path to an honest life begins by breaking parole. Javert is the obsessive policeman who dedicates his life to bringing the convict to justice. Revolution is in the air and Cosette, the orphan Valjean has vowed to protect, has found love with Marius, a student revolutionary.
Epic and uplifting, Les Misérables is the most popular musical in the world. It's been more than 25 years since its Broadway debut, but this is the first time the show has been available to community theatres. We are excited to bring the Playhouse's creative imprint to Les Misérables.
