Crop science company Bayer has partnered with the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) to raise money to address hunger in Central Iowa. The Bayer Foundation will present a $2,000 grant check to DMARC before the Luke Bryan concert in Boone on Sept. 30, which will help support 292 families of four facing food insecurity. Bayer will also donate one meal for each time #HeresToTheFarmer is used during harvest season on social media. “DMARC is excited to partner with the Bayer Foundation and the Luke Bryan Farm Tour to provide healthy meals through its network of food pantries in central Iowa,” said DMARC's executive director, the Rev. Sarai Schnucker Rice. Bayer’s goal for the campaign is to donate 1 million meals.
