The Downtown Farmers' Market will begin its October hours of 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday instead of its usual 7 a.m. start. The later start provides more daylight as vendors prepare their stands. Fall produce will be plentiful and will include sweet potatoes, butternut squash, beets, garlic, apples and fall-themed baked goods and treats and flowers and plants. To celebrate Halloween, during the final market on Oct. 28, patrons are encouraged to dress in costumes. Bring the kids to enjoy treats handed out by market sponsors and vendors.
