Des Moines West Side and Des Moines Downtown chambers of commerce will host three panel discussions on issues of importance to its members. From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Hotel Fort Des Moines, 1000 Walnut St., City Manager Rick Clark, state Sen. Matt McCoy and state Rep. Chris Hagenow will talk about changes to the state's property tax law and the Iowa Reinvestment Act. On Aug. 2, workforce development will be discussed by Mary Bontrager, executive vice president at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Rob Denson, president of the Des Moines Area Community College, and Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Ahart. This fall, the series will conclude with a discussion on healthcare. All panel discussions will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Hotel Fort Des Moines.
