The Des Moines-West Des Moines area is the fifth-best metropolitan region in the country for jobs this spring, according to a survey released by ManpowerGroup.

The survey said that employers in all 50 states intend to increase their payrolls during the three-month period that ends in June. The Des Moines-West Des Moines net employment outlook, according to this photo slideshow put together by Forbes, is 21 percent.

That means that 24 percent of companies interviewed plan to hire more employees, and 3 percent expect to reduce staff.

This report comes on the heels of a less-flattering fake news story about Des Moines earlier this week by The Onion.
