Meredith Corp. Chairman and CEO Steve Lacy has invited area business leaders to join him for a bicycle ride through downtown on Tuesday to try out the Des Moines Bicycle Collective's B-cycle program. The event is part of National Bike to Work and National Employee Health & Fitness weeks, both May 13 to 17. B-cycle is a bike sharing program downtown started by the Bicycle Collective's Carl Voss in 2010. It currently has six stations and 38 bikes. The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is also participating in bike week, allowing bicyclists to ride DART buses for free today through Friday. Bike racks are available on all buses.
