The Young Professionals Connection voted in its 2014 board last night at its Annual Event. Emilee Richardson, marketing and communications coordinator at the Science Center of Iowa, will take over as the organization’s president. Kyle Oppenhuizen, a Business Record reporter, will assume the role of president-elect. To see the full board slate for 2014, click here. Jay Byers, CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, was the guest speaker at the event, and encouraged young professionals in attendance to be ambassadors for the region on social media, give feedback on the Capital Crossroads plan and strive to make a difference every day in the community. Also, LaVerne Greenfield received the Ashley Okland Community Service Award and Danny Beyer received the Amy Jennings YP of the Year Award.
