Gov. Terry Branstad will join community leaders and guests on Wednesday to formally dedicate the Iowa Holocaust Memorial, the first Holocaust memorial in the nation to be located on statehouse grounds. The dedication ceremony of the memorial, a gift from the Jacqueline and Myron Blank Fund to the people of Iowa, will take place Oct. 23 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the State of Iowa Historical Building, 600 E. Locust St. Approved for construction in late April 2013, the memorial on the Capitol's West Terrace was constructed by architectural firm Confluence and was in place for viewing by July 3.
