The Network for Immigration Reform, a coalition of 24 organizations in Central Iowa, will hold a rally on the West Capitol Terrace on the Iowa Capitol grounds on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Speakers from immigrant communities, elected officials, labor unions, human rights advocates and faith communities will call on Iowa's congressional delegation to support immigration reform that honors Iowa's tradition of welcoming newcomers; provides a clear path to citizenship; supports keeping families together; and protects the labor, civil and human rights of all residents. Action tents will be available for participants to sign up to visit congressional offices, register to vote and sign up to host educational forums. Entertainment includes Latin music by Toque Music, clown performances and face painting.
