The Business Record's Forty Under 40 Alumnus of the Year is Michael Sadler, assistant vice president of public policy and government affairs for CenturyLink.
Sadler was a 2005 Forty Under 40 honoree.
Sadler has been employed at CenturyLink, Qwest or U.S. West for 19 years, working his way from an entry level position to his current role, where he leads the company's advocacy efforts at the city, state and federal levels of government.
He currently serves as chair of the Central Iowa Workforce Investment Board. Sadler has served as chair of the Iowa Business Council's Deputy Committee, and has served on the board of the Iowa Taxpayers Association and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.
Sadler has been recognized as the 2012 recipient of the Simpson College "Double S" award, which recognizes former athletes who have had success in their careers, and was a 2009 Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation "Iowan of the Day." Sadler has an MBA degree from Upper Iowa University.
He will be honored at the Business Record Forty Under 40 event on March 11 at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel, 1800 50th St.
