Pappajohn competition announces 3 finalists

The John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition committee yesterday announced its three finalists. They are Coralville-based Memcine Pharmaceuticals Inc., which developed a technology for improving vaccine efficacy against infectious diseases; Ames-based r-pipe, a civil engineering company that makes pipe from waste material; and Ames-based ScoutPro Inc., which uses a crop scouting system to ensure efficient identification and management. The winner will be announced at an awards luncheon on Sept. 26 at Drake University. The award for first place is $25,000.
