UnityPoint hospitals receive heart failure accreditation

UnityPoint Health - Des Moines' three hospitals - Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Methodist West Hospital - each have received full heart failure accreditation status from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. The Accredited Chest Pain Centers of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines demonstrated their expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and undergoing an onsite review by a team of accreditation review specialists, the hospital group said in a release. Nationally, heart failure patients account for between 12 million and 15 million physician office visits annually and 6.5 million hospital days.
