Des Moines Performing Arts said
ticket sales for the 14 performances of "The Book of Mormon" generated
more than $9 million in economic benefits for Greater Des Moines. Using a
formula developed by The Broadway League, the national trade association for
the commercial theater industry, every dollar of ticket revenue generated
creates $3.50 of local economic impact, according to a news release. The
two-week run of the play was attended by 36,182 people.
