Delta Air Lines will provide
daily nonstop service between Des Moines and LaGuardia Airport in New York
starting June 10. Flights will leave Des Moines at 7 a.m. and arrive in New
York at 10:45 a.m. The return trip will leave New York at 8:59 p.m., providing
business travelers with the option of spending a full day in the city. Airport

Smithey said he's optimistic that this will lead to more Delta
flights, both to LaGuardia and elsewhere. "Des Moines has been a good
market for them," he said. "Our market is now proving that we can
support the service that the airlines are putting in here." The airport's passenger
activity was up by 13.3 percent in January compared with a year
ago.
