Toyota Motor Corp. has agreed to pay the state of Iowa more than $500,000 as part of a $29 million settlement with 29 states over allegations that Toyota concealed safety issues related to unintended acceleration.
Toyota will pay Iowa $580,845, Attorney General Tom Miller's office said. Miller alleged that Toyota engaged in unfair and deceptive practices when it failed to reveal known safety defects with accelerator pedals in a timely manner.
