MidAmerican Energy Co. said it has decided against building a nuclear plant in Iowa and that customers will be refunded $8.8 million they paid for a feasibility study, The Des Moines Register reported. The utility company said the lack of an approved design for a modular nuclear plant led it to end its three-year effort for state approval.
