Ames-based manufacturer Sauer-Danfoss Inc. announced net income of $19.9 million, or 41 cents per share, for the fourth quarter of 2012, down from $27.4 million, or 57 cents per share, for the same period a year earlier.

For the year, net income was $181.8 million, or $3.75 per share, compared with $229.9 million, or $4.74 per share, in 2011.
