Owner Revolution Inc., an employee-owned company based in Adair, has acquired Blue Wave Ultrasonics Inc., a manufacturer of ultrasonic cleaning systems based in Davenport. ORI is a holding company for four wholly owned manufacturing subsidiaries that make products ranging from floating docks to lottery ticket dispensers; Blue Wave will be its fifth subsidiary. The purchase furthers ORI’s strategy of acquiring successful Midwest manufacturing businesses in niche markets, said Don Hudak, president and CEO. Blue Wave’s predecessor, Bendix Corp., developed the ultrasonic technology in the 1950s, and the company manufactures a wide array of cleaning systems for industry and health care. Ultrasonic cleaning uses high-frequency sound waves above the upper range of human hearing to intricately remove a variety of contaminants from parts immersed in aqueous media.
