Des Moines recognized as good place for new businesses

Des Moines has been recognized by a national publication as a good place in which to start a business.
The Street, a digital financial media company, listed Des Moines in its article titled "Starting a Business? Move to One of These 6 Cities."
The article states that many small companies are having success selling product solutions to insurance and banking companies. It also touts the quality of life in Des Moines, noting low food, fuel and car insurance costs.
Quoted in the article are Ben Milne, founder of Dwolla Inc., Jay Byers, CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Mike Colwell, executive director of the Business Innovation Zone. Also highlighted is the technology business incubator StartupCity Des Moines and the Plains Angels group.
"Time and time again I've been astonished by the level of support I've received in Des Moines," Milne told The Street.
Also making the list in the article: San Antonio, Miami, Kansas City, Atlanta and Omaha.
