Iowa economic index nudged up in January for fourth consecutive month

The Iowa Leading Indicators Index increased to 106.8 in January from 106.6 in December, registering the fifth gain in the last six months and the fourth consecutive gain. The monthly diffusion index decreased to 68.8 in January from from 87.5 the previous month, with five of eight components contributing positively to the index.
