The Greater Des Moines Partnership announced today that Joseph Jones will join the staff as senior vice president of government relations and public policy. Jones most recently served as a legislative assistant for the Office of U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, where he has been the primary legislative liaison to the Partnership. He previously worked as the director of government affairs for the Iowa Finance Authority and the senior communications specialist for the Office of the Governor and Lt. Governor under the Tom Vilsack administration. Jones is a member of the Des Moines Business Record's "Forty Under 40" class of 2009. He replaced Matt Hinch, who was hired as Gov. Terry Branstad's chief of staff.
