The Iowa Economic Development Agency board will vote Friday on a tax credits request that is a sign of renewed activity at Riverpoint West, a proposed residential, retail and office development that would extend from Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway south to Gray's Lake. Minneapolis-based Sherman Associates Inc. is requesting a grayfield 12 percent tax credit that would total $984,540, according to a summary of the request. The request is for a property at 907 Tuttle St., the former location of a Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel administrative building, woodworking building and parking lot. Sherman plans a 104-room Holiday Inn Express hotel for the area. Total project cost is nearly $11 million, according to the report. Click here for a related story in the Business Record.
