Gov. Terry Branstad said Tuesday that his office has created a website to allow people to sign petitions opposing proposed rollbacks in the country's renewable fuel standard. The Environmental Protection Agency is considering reducing the amount of ethanol that must be blended in gasoline, reports DesMoinesRegister.com. "The result of this proposed rule change would mean corn prices would plummet below the cost of production, loss of jobs and increased dependence on foreign oil," said Branstad. Iowa leads the country in production of biofuels. Branstad said no tax money was used.
