What are your goals in your role at your company?
My goal is to provide Des Moines with world-class customer service and artistry from a highly trained, professional team. We strive to provide top training, excellent benefits and a lucrative, rewarding career path. This level of excellence is typically found in top salon organizations in New York City, Chicago, etc., but I wanted to achieve the same level of excellence and professionalism in the heart of the Midwest.
What are your goals for your community involvement?
We hope to provide 1,000 services this year for people in need in our community. We have partnered with Central Iowa Shelter and Services and hope to take on another partnership this year.
What’s your biggest passion, and why?
My biggest passion is helping people, particularly women and artists, to fulfill their potential. There are so many cliches around starving artists, and I detest low-income statistics for women. It is so gratifying to mentor my team by helping them harness their creativity, contribute to a guest’s wellness and beauty and in turn have financial and emotional abundance in their life.
What is it that drives you?
I believe in the American dream. My father is a first-generation American. Through entrepreneurialism my father triumphed over poverty, sent all of his children to universities and became a pillar in his community. I believe I have a responsibility to help others have the same success and commitment to community.
What are your future aspirations?
I love the phrase “live your best life.” I am always pursuing it, and yet it seems my definition of it is always changing as I learn new life lessons. I believe I will be a serial entrepreneur and am currently vetting a new concept.
