What are your goals in your role at your company?
After completing a leadership development rotational program at Principal, I placed into the Life Insurance Administration division, focusing on resolving formal escalations and complaints filed against the company. I also lead a team responsible for reviewing legal implications related to life insurance policy transactions.
What are your goals for your community involvement?
As a professional violinist, my goal is to make music more accessible in this community. I’ve been privileged to share music with two musical groups I co-founded ? Quartet 515 and the DSM Dueling Fiddles ? and to live in a community that is receptive and supportive of new musical endeavors.
What’s your biggest passion, and why?
My biggest passion is creating and sharing music with others. I am a classically trained violinist and love introducing our community to new performances and interpretations of music. While my focus is largely classical, I experiment with other genres as well, such as jazz, fiddle and Celtic, among others.
What is it that drives you?
I started playing violin when I was 4 years old, but I actually stopped playing while I was in college. The time away from something that had long defined me — and my life — taught me to really figure out what I want to do, then have the courage to pursue it.
What are your future aspirations?
As a musician, my vision is to see the arts become interwoven in the cultural fabric of our society. I want to continue pushing musical boundaries through collaborations with musicians across genres, and through Quartet 515, redefine how people interact with and appreciate classical music.
