What are your goals in your role at your company?
Provide value to my firm, our clients and our community by continued gains and growth in real estate development experience, expertise and knowledge; to become a leader and go-to person for Des Moines (and regional) real estate development; and to promote continued, diversified development of downtown Des Moines.

What are your goals for your community involvement?
I’d like to see my mentee achieve her education and career goals, including graduation from high school and the pursuit of her postsecondary education and law degree. As her mentor, I’d further like to help her gain skills to become a future leader of, and contributor to, her community.

What’s your biggest passion, and why?
Making an impact. Whether in my career, personal or community life, I find a sense of purpose and pride seeing results. Whether it’s driving by a completed development project or achieving a project or fundraising goal, it’s always fun to see the end product. It makes it all worth it.

What is it that drives you?
My perfectionist tendencies. In addition to my desire to make an impact, I have always wanted to do better and help as much as I can. I am also kind of a nerd and find it hard to say no, so there’s that.

What are your future aspirations?
Similar to my wish for the Central Iowa business community — continued success, professional and personal growth and innovation in how I contribute and add value to my work and community.

Four reasons she’s a Forty:

1. Mixes business with pleasure, integrating her real estate development and community involvement passions through her involvement in the construction and development of a Youth Enrichment Center for Community Youth Concepts and a proposed regional skateboard park.
2. Leads by example and gives back as a Hoover High School student’s mentor, a member of Community Youth Concepts capital campaign committee, Operation Downtown and Des Moines Social Club boards of directors.
3. A 2015 Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute graduate.
4. A young, female professional trying to make waves in the local real estate development sector.
