Iowa high school students and their parents have an opportunity to learn how they can prepare for college or other educational opportunities beyond high school at the ninth annual College Prep Day.  The event, to be held Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Olmsted Center on the Drake University campus, is sponsored by the Des Moines NAACP Youth Council. Activities throughout the day will include a mini college fair and student panel, as well as interactive sessions on topics such as financial aid, college admissions, career exploration and financial literacy. Students and parents can register for this free event and find information on how to apply for the scholarships from the Des Moines NAACP website
