David Spalding has been named dean of Iowa State University's College of Business. Spalding is currently the senior vice president and senior adviser to Dartmouth College's interim president, Carol Folt.
He will begin at Iowa State on Aug. 1. In his eight years at Dartmouth, Spalding has held a number of leadership roles, including overseeing an effort to increase engagement with the school's nearly 70,000 alumni.
Prior to his time at Dartmouth, he held a number of positions in the corporate world, including Chase Manhattan Bank and First National Bank of Chicago.
