The Higher Learning Commission has reaffirmed accreditation for the University of Phoenix, but placed it on "Notice" status for the next two years, the Phoenix Business Journal reported. The university had earlier been notified that it might be placed on probation rather than the less severe notice status.  The university's notice status relates to governance, student assessment and faculty scholarship issues. The University of Phoenix must now

submit a written report on corrective measures taken to meet accreditation criteria, which is due in fall of 2014. The university recently opened a location in downtown Des Moines.
