Broadlawns Medical Center announced that actress Glenn Close has had to cancel as the keynote speaker for its "ME-Series" community event on May 15. In her place, Academy Award nominated actress, model, author and mental health activist Mariel Hemingway will give the keynote address. Hemingway, the granddaughter of the Nobel Prize-winning writer Ernest Hemingway, has become a national spokesperson on mental health awareness, most recently by promoting "Running From Crazy," a documentary about her family's struggles with suicide, depression, alcoholism and more. The ME-Series event is part of the "Mental Health in our Community Starts with Me" campaign and will be held at Veterans Memorial Community Choice Credit Union. Purchase tickets to hear Hemingway and participate in a question-answer session at www.BroadlawnsAdvocateCircle.org
