AARP Iowa will hold its "Great Places" annual meeting and community report tomorrow as part of the Age-Friendly City initiative. The initiative is led by AARP, the city of Des Moines, Des Moines University and Aging Resources of Central Iowa. Officials will unveil a project update that includes a report of research outcomes and a preliminary assessment of how the city measures up to Age-Friendly criteria. They will also discuss opportunities for collaboration with the Capital Crossroads plan, The Tomorrow Plan, the DART 2035 plan, and the Iowa Healthiest State and Blue Zones initiatives. The event will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Des Moines University, 3200 Grand Ave., Des Moines, in the Olsen Medical Education Center. To register,click here.
