Fourteen health centers in Iowa will receive nearly $1.48 million in federal funding to help uninsured Iowans enroll in new health coverage options under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced the funding Wednesday as part of $150 million in grant awards to 1,159 health centers nationwide. With the Outreach and Enrollment funding, the health centers nationwide are expected to hire an additional 2,900 workers. An estimated 26 additional workers to be hired in Iowa will assist more than 37,000 people with enrollment into affordable health insurance coverage, the department said in a release. Click here to see a list of funding received in Iowa.
