Michael
Giudicessi has been named leader of the Faegre Baker Daniels LLP (FaegreBD)
office in Des Moines.
Giudicessi was a founding partner
of FaegreBD's Des Moines office in 1990. As office leader, Giudicessi will
guide the firm's community initiatives and provide administrative support to
the 25 lawyers and staff of the Iowa office.
He succeeds partner Terri Combs,
who remains a member of the firm's management board.
Giudicessi represents employers
on discrimination, wrongful termination, contract and related state and federal
claims; counsels employers, board members and officers on corporate, transactional
and compliance issues; and maintains an active First Amendment practice on
behalf of publishers, broadcasters and the new media.
Giudicessi is a Des Moines native
who has practiced law in both corporate and private firm settings. He is the
former general counsel of Palmer Communications Inc., and is current counsel
and past president of the Iowa Freedom of Information Council. He is the vice
chair of the Science Center of Iowa.
From 2011 to 2012, he served on
the Iowa Supreme Court study committee on lawyer advertising. Faegre Baker
Daniels is led by a management board of 15 members, responsible for strategic
direction and policy of the firm.
