Iowa Department of Transportation employees are testing a system that allows them to use their mobile phones to display their driver licenses. The software is from MorphoTrust USA. The DOT had announced earlier it hopes to offer drivers the option of using their phone to display the identification. The software would allow users to change information such as their home address or organ donor status immediately. The company's software includes both visible and covert security features that are linked and layered in the digital image on the screen. DOT director Paul Trombino said the test will help Iowa and other states decide whether to move to a digital system.
