Karmyn Babcock, 37, the
information technology director for The Weitz Co., and Andrew Beal, 31,
co-founder and co-owner of Beal Derkenne Construction, are among the top 20
construction professionals under age 40 in the Midwest, Engineering News-Record
(ENR) says in its February regional edition.
Babcock has used her degrees
in civil and construction engineering to build "electronic infrastructures
-- computer networks and highways that merge the disciplines of engineering and
computer technology," ENR said.
Beal launched his construction company in
2010 with colleague Michael Derkenne. The company was recently recognized for
its work in Arizona. "Projects seeking to revive Des Moines" are
