Joe Henry, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Mid-America Group Realtors, has received the 2014 Marvin A. Pomerantz Spirit Award.

He was recognized for exhibiting “Marvin’s ideals of integrity, fairness, loyalty and compassion in dealings with their customers, fellow employees, sales associates and management, as well as improving our community through charity, volunteerism or assisting with public education.”
Henry was praised for his accessibility to clients, knowledge of the real estate market, and his tireless commitments to the community and efforts to support his Latino roots.

Henry has been: state director of the Iowa League of United Latin American Citizens, on the board of the Young Women’s Resource Center, acting president of Save & Support Our Schools and a member of the Des Moines Civil Service Commission. He also is part of the Des Moines South-Side Revitalization Partnership and the Southwest Ninth Street Merchants Committee.
