For the first time in 20 years, R&R Realty Group will enter the apartment market, with a 127-unit, three-story building planned for its Country Club Office Plaza in West Des Moines.
The project features luxury apartments that will be marketed to professionals and seniors.
R&R President Mark Rupprecht said there is an obvious demand for more multifamily units in Greater Des Moines, particularly those with upscale amenities.
The company has established a fiber-optic link for the office and retail properties in Country Club Office Plaza, and that is one amenity that will be offered to tenants of the apartment building, called Sierra Pointe, when it is completed next summer.
The company also is in the process of running fiber-optic cable at its Three Fountains and Regency West office parks.
Rupprecht said R&R is interested in building more multifamily projects.
