The Des Moines Area Association of Realtors donated $41,000 to local charities last year, bringing its total contributions since 2000 to more than $300,000, according to a news release. Recipients included Central Iowa Shelter & Services, Anawim Housing, Children & Families of Iowa, House of Mercy, Hope Ministries, Hawthorn Hill New Directions Shelter, Orchard Place, Red Cross, Homes of Oakridge, Camp Sunnyside Easter Seals, Youth Homes of Mid-America and Beacon of Hope.
