Des Moines comes in as the eighth-best city for
young adults, according to a study by BizJournals.com. The study analyzed
federal statistics for the 102 largest markets, searching for qualities that
would appeal to workers in their 20s or early 30s.
The 10-part formula rewards
cities with strong growth rates, moderate costs of living and substantial pools
of college-educated young adults. Des Moines came in at No. 1 among Midwest
cities in the study.
The top city overall was Austin, Texas, followed by San
Jose, Calif., Washington D.C., Boston and Houston. See the BizJournals article here.
