CenturyLink Inc. announced late Tuesday it has reached a tentative agreement with the Communications Workers of America District 7. The new four-year agreement will now be sent union bargaining unit members for ratification votes, the company said. The contract covers approximately 12,000 CenturyLink employees in 13 states, including Iowa. CenturyLink officials said they are in the final stages of working out an agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 206. The previous contracts were scheduled to expire Oct. 6, 2012, but have been extended on a day-to-day basis while negotiations continued.
