February U.S. jobs report: private sector added 139,000 jobs last month

Reuters: U.S. private employers added 139,000 jobs in February, shy of economists' expectations, according to a report released Wednesday by payrolls processor ADP. Harsh winter weather made it hard to measure the strength of the U.S. economy.

 

New GM CEO Barra promises to investigate how recall was handled

The New York Times: General Motors Co. CEO Mary Barra told employees on Tuesday that she had personally taken charge of the company's recall of 1.6 million vehicles to fix defective ignition switches. Barra's comments, made on a corporate blog, were her first public acknowledgment of GM's decade-long failure to address a safety problem that the automaker has linked to 13 deaths.
