A new award organization is now accepting nominations to honor people who have overcome significant barriers to employment. The Iowa Job Honor Awards will honor employees who have overcome poverty to become productive members of the workforce. The awards will also honor employers who hire those employees. The awards will be presented at the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Conference June 9 through 11 in Cedar Rapids. To nominate an individual or an employer, go to www.JobHonor.org. The deadline is April 1. The Iowa Job Honor Awards were launched by founder and director Kyle Horn earlier this month to inspire more unemployed Iowans to utilize available resources to acquire skills and encourage companies to hire Iowans who use those resources.
