Diana Wilson has been named general manager of West Des Moines Water Works. She is the first woman to hold the title and one of few in the country to hold a management role in the industry, according to a news release. Wilson has been an engineering project manager for the water utility since 2010 and led its southern expansion. Before that, she was an environmental engineer with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Wilson, who was selected by trustees after a national search, started work today as general manager.
