Geoff Wood, the Des Moines-based chief operating officer of Silicon Prairie News, announced today in a blog post that he is leaving the company. The move comes after an announcement last week that Regan Carrizales will take over the role of CEO of the company, replacing Dusty Davidson. Wood said in his blog post that he wasn't forced out, but "my box on the new org chart just isn't something that I can be passionate about in the way that I've been passionate about building the company the last several years." Silicon Prairie News covers the technology startup scene in Des Moines, Omaha and Kansas City. Wood was a 2012 Business Record Forty Under 40 honoree.
