A total of 72.78 percent of Iowa households have access to fixed broadband at 25 Mbps download speeds, an 18 percentage point increase compared with October 2013, according to research released today by Connect Iowa. Broadband availability of download speeds of at least 50 Mbps increased to 70.94 percent from 47.35 percent in October 2013. Connect Iowa is an initiative led by the Iowa Economic Development Authority aimed at increasing broadband access throughout rural Iowa by working with broadband providers.
