Gov. Terry Branstad, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and Sen. Brian Schoenjahn will be the speakers to kick off the fifth annual STEM Day at the Capitol on Thursday. The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is set to showcase some of the best science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related activities and accomplishments. Exhibits will be set up to to preview lifelong learning programs from more than 30 exhibitors, including universities, businesses and nonprofits. The event will take place at the Iowa State Capitol's second floor rotunda. Branstad has identified STEM education as a state priority by forming the Governor's STEM Advisory Council.
