A truck fire on Interstate 35 between the Mills Civic Parkway and Grand Avenue exits in West Des Moines has closed both southbound lanes, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT).

Smoke from the semi-tractor trailer fire has caused a hazard for travelers, and the closure is expected to be in place until approximately 5 p.m. this afternoon.
