Aficionados of Iowa-brewed beers and native wines can check out the latest offerings in the new Iowa Wine and Beer Directory. The 2009 edition, available free at any Iowa Welcome Center or online at www.iowawineandbeer.com, for the first time includes listings for 15 brew pubs as well as traditional breweries and wineries.

“Iowa’s wine and beer industry continues to expand,” LuAnn Reinders of the Iowa Wine & Beer Promotion Board said in a press release. “In just the past year, we’ve added nine more wineries, boosting our total to 61. By including the brew pubs, we’re adding additional information on where Iowans and travelers alike can taste our local flavors.”

The directory also includes an amenities index that indicates whether the winery or brewery offers a tasting room, guided tours, special events, process/viewing room, gift shop, motorcoach/RV parking, wheelchair accessibility, picnic areas and wedding and reception facilities. A color-coded map identifies breweries and the five Iowa wine trails. As in previous editions, the guide also contains complete contact information, a map and brief description of each location.

An events calendar and detailed listings for each winery and brewery can be found on www.iowawineandbeer.com. Iowa Wine and Beer is also now on Twitter (@IowaWineandBeer) and Facebook.
