75 million Americans expected to eat out this Mother’s Day
New research from the National Restaurant Association shows Mother’s Day surpasses Valentine’s Day as the most popular holiday for diningt, with 75 million Americans expected to dine out to celebrate the holiday.
The survey shows that 58 percent of Mother’s Day diners will go out to a restaurant for dinner, 32 percent lunch, 24 percent brunch, and 10 percent for breakfast. In addition, 19 percent of diners will go out for more than one meal that day.
Jessica Dunker, president and CEO of the Iowa Restaurant Association, encourages people to check out Dine Iowa, a statewide directory, for restaurant options. The directory is available online and as a free smartphone app.
Dine Iowa allows consumers to check out menus and hours, as well as run searches on everything from gluten free offerings to patio seating.
